in the summer of 2011, the tonga family: Ambrosia Salad, Taco Tuesday (Oscar Pineda) and Stanley Frank received a blow to our panochas when our eccentric long lost auntie Cochina Tonga passed away. all to our sorpresa, at the reading of the will, we found out we had inherited her infamously unfamous cabana by the sea, overlooking the banana trees, which was once a wildly, yet secretly, attended underground tonga room, restaurant, tiki lounge and discoteca! our auntie did it all, kind of like an Auntie Mame, but more like an Auntie No Mames!
it was up to us to keep the legacy alive!: together, we cooked, bartended, cleaned, dj'ed, performed, dipped and served to helped turn the cabana back into the wacky haven in havana that it once was! pretty soon, the whole town was declaring: I ♥ COCHINA TONGA'S!
